Today, we celebrate the people who hold stories, traditions, wisdom, humor, and love across generations.

Grandparenting can look a thousand different ways. It may mean being the person who spoils the grandchildren, teaches them family recipes, tells stories from “back when,” cheers from the sidelines, or simply offers a safe place to land.

It may also mean stepping into a grandparent-like role through love, friendship, family of choice, mentorship, or community.

At Jaybird and Oak, we believe meaningful aging is deeply connected to our relationships— to the roots that ground us, the people who came before us, and the new growth we nurture in those who come after us.

Today, we celebrate grandparents and grandparent figures everywhere—and the beautiful, complicated, joyful, and meaningful connections that grow between generations.
